PLUME, the next-generation Airvest

PLUME embodies a new generation of equestrian protection. Thanks to a tubeless and seamless design, it redefines standards in terms of lightness, comfort, and safety. PLUME is the 2026 winner of the coveted equine industry SPOGA Innovation Award.

At least 25% lighter than a traditional airbag, PLUME stands out with its innovative construction : a multi-layer textile, no more inner bladder, and assembled using ultrasonic welding. This design results in an ultra-thin and breathable vest, offering exceptional lightness and freedom of movement.

The PLUME airvest is engineered to deliver optimal protection, featuring an inflatable collar that enhances cervical protection in combination with certified helmets, along with coverage of vital areas (thorax and vital organs, neck, spine and lumbar region). Its ultra-fast full inflation (90 ms for size M) goes beyond the NF S72-800-2022 safety standard, ensuring a unparalleled level of safety. Its ergonomic design, available in both men’s and women’s cuts, provides a precise fit for optimized comfort and protection.

 PLUME is 100% designed and manufactured in France, in Freejump’s workshops in Bordeaux, with a made in France textile.

Each unit is individually tested to ensure maximum reliability.

Designed for everyday riding, PLUME offers easy and precise adjustment thanks to its strap system.

PLUME is also machine-washable (read carefully the maintenance care instructions).

The PLUME vest is compatible to be worn under jackets from more than 20 equestrian textile brands certified according to the NF S72-800-2022 standard.

Its packaging follows a responsible approach and meets recognized standards such as Ecovadis CSR and FSC, ensuring responsible sourcing of materials and contributing to forest preservation, as well as ISO 9001, which certifies controlled processes and regulatory compliance.

PLUME Care Instructions

Please follow the cleaning and storage instructions carefully (refer to the User Guide).

It is recommended to use the HEY Airbag Cleaner as often as necessary to remove dirt and eliminate odours.

The PLUME Airvest is also machine washable, using the FREEJUMP Washing Kit which includes a specifically laundry pouch and gas generator plug, strictly following the recommended washing instructions  (low tempretaure 30°C/85°F, no spin cycle), and only when trully necessary. We recommend a maximum of 10 machine washes over the lifetime of your PLUME Airvest, using a gentle detergent. 

PLUME Service Overhaul

PLUME is designed to protect and to last over time. We recommend a service overhaul after 10 inflations to verify its proper functioning and guarantee safety under normal use. Freejump offers a free of charge service overhaul for up to 12 months following the date of purchase (then for a cost of 75€ thereafter). FREEJUMP is committed to ensuring the proper functioning of PLUME and its lifespan based on this service overhaul expertise.

PLUME Warranty

PLUME is 100% Made in France in FREEJUMP’s very own workshops in Bordeaux.

We provide a 2-year European warranty against product’s defects, or a warranty period as stipulated by the applicable local law of the country in which the purchase took place, whichever is longer.
