" Hi, my name is Alexis Goury, I am 22 years old and I am an eventing rider. I am happy to participate to the CIC 2* of Pau.

How did you start horse riding ? I started horse riding when I was 8 as my aunt had a riding stable. I the first time ride a pony for a ride and I enjoyed it, but the only thing I wanted to do was competition !

My horse, Vidocq de Tael is 8 years old, a father by l’ Arc de Triomphe, I ride him since 2 years. His owner Gwenaelle Lebreton and I work together, she helps me and it’s a nice adventure ! I really believe in my horse, he has lots of qualities in dressage and cross country but he is sensitive and we have to trust each other. He is very efficient, he finished second in the 2* of Saumur in may.

Which riders are your models ? Michael Jung, also a freejump ambassador is my first model, especially on the cross, he is so fast and so irreproachable ! In the French team, Maxime Livio is really talented, I used to work in his stable during two months and watched his way of working with horses. He is an outstanding horseman !

An advice for the others riders ? When I was young, people around me said « you will never success » I always believe in things I wanted to do, my parents always supported me and finally I always give 100% in everything I do ! When you have a dream in mind, we must give ourselves the means to make it happen and work hard for it ! Life is a chance, you meet some people who help you. Take your chance, never give up even if it’s hard and believe in you dreams ! "
